Britney is going to have surgery tomorrow to have the scar tissue around her left lung taken off so her left lung can expand more. Right now she is breathing on her own without the ventilator and is doing very well with it. She is doing so well they are talking about getting her to a rehab facility in a week or two. Talk to everyone soon.

Hey John,
ReplyDeleteThis is Brittany's cousin Sara. I've been checking your blog daily for updates on Brittany's condition. Thank you so much for taking the time to keep us all posted in the midst of everything. This is so helpful in knowing what to pray for too. The news today that rehab might be just around the corner for Brittany is great! I don't know if you've began the looking into facilities yet, but I wanted to make a suggestion. Craig Rehab Hospital in Englewood, CO specializes in patients with TBI's and similar setbacks. I worked at Craig for over 3 years and have seen some amazing recoveries. I know you have a lot on your plate, but thought I'd at least throw it out there. I will continue to check for updates on Brittany and pray for strength for you all....
I have heard great things about Craig Hospital. I have a friend who will be a resident there next year. He is doing his internship somewhere else this year. Transport would be a nightmare to Colorado and there are lots of really good rehab places here that have a lot of experience also. Not as much as Craig I don't think. I'll have to research them more.
