I just spoke with Britney's cardiac surgeon. They are planning on getting her off ECMO this afternoon. She has tolerated the weaning well. They just cleaned out her lungs again with a bronschoscope to get her ready to be only on the ventilator. Say extra prayers for her today.

John,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for keeping this updated. It is so exciting to see all of Britney's progress. I will say a few extra prayers for Brit today as she comes off the machines.
We feel a little helpless out here in Virginia so we are going to donate blood this week in Britney's name. We know it wont get to her but hope that it will help another family in need as much as it has yours.
We send all of our love and will keep the prayers going!
Love,
Courtney, Ryan and Jayla
John, I am a friend of Britney's family. I am donating blood this week in Britney's name. We are praying for you both today.

ReplyDeleteWe were so sorry to hear about Britney yesterday, but are also so happy to see she has made so much progress. My family and I are keeping you, all your cute kids and especially Britney are in our prayers.

ReplyDeleteWe love you guys so much!!! Grandma Rowley has been giving us updates every day so we could be more specific in our prayers in Britney's behalf. Your faith & strength (both Winkler & Foster families) have truly been inspiring.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I'll try my Senior Brain at this blog thing. I told our seven children about Britney as they gathered at Woods Cross, Utah, for a Father's Day gathering. Our hearts and prayers are with you all!
ReplyDeleteGary and Heather have a new baby boy, Liam Benjamin, born April 21st. He was 5 weeks premature and weighed only 4# 9oz. He is home and doing well but is on medication and a monitor until he is out of danger. Imagine that, 3 little Winkler cousins so close together!
Love and best wishes, Aunt Carol
